Turkey Craft for Kids from Toilet Tissue Tube: Thanksgiving Kids Craft

Turkey Craft for Kids from Toilet Tissue Tube: Thanksgiving Kids Craft

Supplies Needed:
  • 1 Toilet Tissue Tube for Each Turkey
  • Construction Paper
  • 2 Googly Eyes for Each Turkey
  • Child Safe Scissors
  • Glue
Time Needed:
  • 20-30 Minutes
What To Do:

CAUTION: When cutting with scissors is required a parent or adult must supervise. If the cutting is too intricate the adult can do it for the child
  1. Cut out a square of construction paper about 8" x 8"
My kids chose their favorite colors for this project. Use whatever color(s) they like!
  2. Fold square in half diagonally so it looks like a triangle.
  3. Fold accordian style, like a fan.
  4. Glue to inside of toilet tissue tube. Let dry.
One of my kids glued it with the point up, the other with the point down. Do it however you like!
  5. Cut a circle for the head and glue onto tube.
  6. Glue eyes, triangle nose, and wattle to face.
  7. Cut out a pair of feet and wings and glue those on.
  8. Allow to dry completely!

Halloween Craft for Kids: Spider in Spider Web

Halloween Craft for Kids: Spider in Spider Web
preschool Halloween craft
for Ages 4 Years and Up with Adult Participation and Supervision

Supplies Needed:
  • Paper Plate
  • 2 pipe cleaners (for each spider)
  • 2 Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Poster Paint (color of your choice)
  • Paint Brush
  • String or yarn (about 3 feet)
  • Hole Puncher
Time Needed:
  • 30 Minutes plus drying time
What To Do:
  1. Paint inside of paper plate and let dry completely.
  2. Make spider but cutting (ADULT ONLY) about 6 inches from a pipe cleaner for the body plus six 2 inch segments for the legs.
NOTE: My kids had their own ideas on how to create the spiders so I let them do it any way they wanted. That's why we have 3 compeletly different spiders - that's art for you!
  3. Twist the pipe cleaners to form and connect the body and legs
  4. Use a drop of glue to put on the google eyes.
  5. ADULT: Use the hole puncher to make holes around the outer portion of the paper plate. Try not to punch holes too close to the edge of the paper plate or it may tear when your child is making the spider web.
HINT: If you put a piece of tape over the end of the yarn or string (like a shoelace tip) it'll be easier for your child to do the lacing.
  6. To make the spider web have your child lace the string into one of the holes. ADULT: tie a big knot so the end doesn't come thru or use a piece of tape to tape the end to the back of the plate.
  7. Continue lacing with the string or yarn by going from one hole to another across from each other.
HINT: Make sure your child pulls the string all the way through each time. You'll need a firm spider web to hold the spider :)
  8. When it's done just tape the end piece to the back of the plate.
  9. Place the spider into the web. You may want to hook one of the legs around part of the web so he "hangs" on :)
  10. OPTIONAL: Make additional spiders and hang them from the ceiling!
  11. OPTIONAL: Attach a string and hang from ceiling to make floating ghosts
Don't Forget to Take a photo of your finished project and share it with us on the GummyLump Facebook Fan Page!

"Stained Glass" Mother's Day Gift: Kids Craft Project #92

"Stained Glass" Mother's Day Gift

for Ages 3 Years and Up
Hang in a sunny window and see the tissue paper light up like stained glass
I absolutely loved this craft that Melinda from LookWhatMomFound showed on her blog! I think it's just beautiful! What a wonderful Mother's Day Gift it would make!
Supplies Needed:
  • Colored Tissue Paper scraps
  • Wax paper
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Tape/ribbon
Time Needed:
  • up to 30 Minutes plus drying time
What To Do:
  1. Cut your wax paper and construction paper to the same size, 8”X8” is a good size
  2. Cut shapes from your folded up paper. Think the oldschool snowflake method, Fold, crease, fold crease. The bigger the cuts the better, you want to see through this cutout as much as possible.
  3. Spread a very thin layer of white glue on your wax paper and start randomly sticking your tissue paper pieces till it’s COMPLETELY covered, let dry 2 hours or overnight if possible. (might have to place under heavy book to flatten if it starts to curl up)
  4. Add sporadic dots of white glue on your construction paper cutout and place over tissue paper sheet. Press firmly.
  5. Give it to MOM for Mother's Day or someone else special. This is a great gift project!
  6. Don't Forget to Take a photo and share it with us! You are automatically entered into our WEEKLY GIVEAWAY on our Facebook Page when you post a photo of your finished project and "Like" Us ! Giveaway is randomly selected.

  • Chocolate Molds
We used this mold and a heart shaped mold.

  9. Place Oreo inside each mold until chocolate fills the sides (and possible part of the Oreo bottom as well)
  10. Put in refrigerator until completely set (maybe 15 minutes.)
  11. To unmold just turn upside down and gently press on the back of the mold or slightly twist the mold and they will pop out.
