Decorating Pumpkins with Little #Kids #craft

Pumpkin Season is among us. Many family like to carve fancy images into their pumpkins but that isn't the most kid friendly activity due to the mess and tools needed to complete.  Decoration pumpkins is simpler and allows kids to use their imagination and creativity to create scenes and faces of their very own.

I really liked this project because it let the kids open their minds and think outside the box. They can either use markers or paint with this project. Paint would be messier but it would show up better. Since I had a 3 year old too I decided to stick with markers. We did the craft outside since it was so nice out.

Time Needed: 30 minutes  - 1 hour

  • Decide if you want to use markers or paint. (markers are less mess)
  • Lay down newspaper. (I did the project outside since it was nice out)
  • Give each child their pumpkin.
  • Let them decorate their pumpkins with markers or paint. (it does not need to be a face)

For Younger Children and Children with Special Needs:
Assist your child as much as needed - but allow it to be their project. Let them do the designing.
