Educational Activity: Puddles of Fun (and learning) for Preschoolers

We live in Arizona, so fresh rain in the summertime is awesome! We jumped at the opportunity to do some exploring! Caden(5) put on his Soggy Froggy Raincoat, and his Happy Giddy Umbrella by Melissa & Doug! We also grabbed our Mombo Snake Bug House and matching Mombo Snake Magnifying Glass.

Caden loved searching for cool stuff in the rain puddles. He was really hoping to find a creature to put in his Mombo Snake Bug House but no luck. I love this bug house because it says right on it: “Be good to bugs! Let your bug go!” and it is VERY high quality.

When we came inside Caden drew a picture of what he saw on his adventure:)

Caden said this about his drawing: “I saw a paw print in a mud puddle. It was raining, and the clouds were grey. One paw print was little, and one paw print was big. I think dogs made the paw prints cause we have dogs!”

My kids love the Melissa and Doug Umbrella and Rain coat! They wear it all the time (rain or not, inside or out!). We added them to our dress-up area for more pretend fun.
