"Stained Glass" Mother's Day Gift: Kids Craft Project #92

"Stained Glass" Mother's Day Gift

for Ages 3 Years and Up
Hang in a sunny window and see the tissue paper light up like stained glass
I absolutely loved this craft that Melinda from LookWhatMomFound showed on her blog! I think it's just beautiful! What a wonderful Mother's Day Gift it would make!
Supplies Needed:
  • Colored Tissue Paper scraps
  • Wax paper
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Tape/ribbon
Time Needed:
  • up to 30 Minutes plus drying time
What To Do:
  1. Cut your wax paper and construction paper to the same size, 8”X8” is a good size
  2. Cut shapes from your folded up paper. Think the oldschool snowflake method, Fold, crease, fold crease. The bigger the cuts the better, you want to see through this cutout as much as possible.
  3. Spread a very thin layer of white glue on your wax paper and start randomly sticking your tissue paper pieces till it’s COMPLETELY covered, let dry 2 hours or overnight if possible. (might have to place under heavy book to flatten if it starts to curl up)
  4. Add sporadic dots of white glue on your construction paper cutout and place over tissue paper sheet. Press firmly.
  5. Give it to MOM for Mother's Day or someone else special. This is a great gift project!
  6. Don't Forget to Take a photo and share it with us! You are automatically entered into our WEEKLY GIVEAWAY on our Facebook Page when you post a photo of your finished project and "Like" Us ! Giveaway is randomly selected.

WOW! What a gorgeous project. It turned out PERFECT. Gosh, I have TONS of different colored tissue paper and it looks simple enough that my seven year old can do this. Maybe we'll attempt this project tomorrow. If it's successful, I'll let you all know. Eeekk! =) Thank you for this idea, I appreciate it.
By the way, MommyBKnowsBest sent me. And I'm so happy she did!
