Time Needed:
What To Do:
- 30 Minutes plus drying time
What To Do:
- ADULT: Put about 1 inch of Shaving Cream into the bottom of a deep bin or baking pan and then add several drops each of green, red and yellow food coloring. Use your Popsicle stick to pull through the shaving cream to create ribbons of color!

Ribbons of color in our shaving cream. - Place your watercolor paper on top of the shaving cream and press down lightly. Wait 2-3 minutes before removing.

Our paper in the shaving cream ribbons. - Place onto a protected, hard, flat surface (table with newspaper covering or plastic garbage bag on it).

Look how beautiful!
Reminds me of rainbow sherbet! - Use squeegee to remove all the shaving cream, going from top to bottom. If you have to go back a few times to get all the shaving cream off, wipe the squeegee blade in between.
- Let dry several hours or overnight. Should be dry to the touch.
- ADULT: Cut paper in half so you have two 8.5" x 5.5" pieces.
- Fold one in half with design side out.
- Use double sided tape to adhere the other piece inside so that both sides of the card have a nice design. We actually cut our 2nd piece a little smaller so we could tape it inside easily.

Inside view of card. - On the front, create a frame by using your ribbon. Stick to card with tape.
- Cut out butterfly from template and tape to the font of the card, inside the frame.

Pretty! - Inside, use double sided tape to stick 2 foam hearts.
- ADULT: Write your greeting inside!
- You're done! Give your one of a kind card with pride!
- Don't Forget to Take a photo and share it with us! You are automatically entered into our WEEKLY GIVEAWAY on our Facebook Page when you post a photo of your finished project and "Like" Us ! Giveaway is randomly selected.

For Children with Special Needs: Assist your child as much as needed - but allow it to be his project. Art projects are great for fine motor exercise, and using creativity.
If you child has a limited attention span, have all supplies ready before having him begin the project.
This opportunity for hands-on learning with no wrong choices is ideal to foster self esteem as well. Let him choose what colors of food coloring to use, how to stir the color into the shaving cream, and how long (2 minutes or 3) to let the paper take on color!
If your child enjoys playing with shaving cream let him go right ahead and enjoy it BUT it's best to do this BEFORE the food coloring is added. The food coloring will stain his hands (and possibly his clothing)- although it will wash off his skin later if soaked.
For Older Children: An older child can further enjoy this project by doing his own scissor work, setting a 2 or 3 minute timer himself, and writing in the card alone.
Associated Educational Activities:
A fun BOOK to read in conjunction with this craft is "A Color of His Own" by Leo Lionni. Every other animal has its own color - elephants are grey and tigers are orange & black, but this chameleon changes color every times he moves. All he wants is a color all his own so he can be like everyone else. Like many of Lionni's other stories, this one is a beautiful picture book as well as a story with a message!SING "The Color I See"
Red, red is the color I see.
If you are wearing red then show it to me.
Stand up, turn around.
Show me your red then sit back down.
Yellow, Yellow is the color I see.
Yellow, Yellow is the color I see.
If you are wearing Yellow then show it to me.
Stand up, turn around.
Show me your yellow then sit back down.
